April 1, 2012 Furminated Samson Ah, Sam. Someday we will look back on this and laugh. Remember the day I furminated an entire pomeranian (or two) off you? The spring 'blow out' is just one of those things . . . And no - none of this is from cutting his fur in any way! I didn't even get to trimming his feet or anything else. This is just from raking his undercoat. His spring blow out this year is just nuts. Hair everywhere! I think he will be much more comfortable now, though. Spring break this week, so hopefully (*crosses fingers*) I will have time to look at all your lovely photos I've been missing! I've also been working like crazy on my Zazzle store (link here below) to create posters and canvas wraps: www.zazzle.com/artinphotography* Miss you guys! Kara
March 19, 2012 Mayo Lake Here is my ummm... monthly .... shot. I just can't keep up with a daily by any means this year, unfortunately. This is about all I can manage and keep my head above water! So sad to have missed all your beautiful dailies and I hope to have time this coming weekend to peruse them. UPDATE: EDITOR'S PICK, betterphoto.com, April 2012, Nature & Landscapes
February 26, 2012 Dream Flowers This is the same bouquet from yesterday's daily, but this time I played with it in layers and added a texture. Basically, I desaturated it and added one of Kim Klassen's textures, dream, which has text that says, "dream" and other inspirational phrases. If you don't know Kim Klassen, go to http://www.kimklassencafe.com/ and check it out. She does online tutorials that are really good, in addition to all her fab textures. I'm not quite happy with this image still. I couldn't seem to get the right light balance that would be light enough to show all the text, yet dark enough so that main flower isn't too light (which it kind of is) and also darken the text of the texture. It's been so long since I played with textures (or with my camera or with photo software at all!) - I wish I had time to take another of Kim's classes! Thanks so much for your kind comments on yesterday's shot. Oh - and if you look in the larger sizes, you can see more of what the texture text says.
