July 4, 2012 Freedom I actually took this in 2008 (sorry Art!) in Jamestown, VA, and revisited the image today. I took it with my old, no longer functioning Konica Minolta. Today I reworked it with Topaz Adjust smooth filter, then Color Efex Pro Vignette filter. July 2, 2012 Sun Bud I took this yesterday, but just now have had time to load to my laptop and check it out and upload it here. I had a birdfeeder with sunflower seeds in it at my deck this winter and spring, and two volunteer sunflower sprouts are now by the footings of the deck. :) I also worked on a bunch more sunflower products in my Zazzle store (but haven't yet loaded up this particular sunflower image and made products from it) here: http://www.zazzle.com/artinphotography/gifts?cg=196881638283411087&rf=238874973767831732 UPDATE: EDITOR'S PICK, betterphoto.com, July 2012, Flowers FINALIST, betterphoto.com, July 2012, Flowers
July 1, 2012 I will try to make this the last of my quilt shots I put in the dailies - I know you all must be getting tired of them! I have been busy job hunting and other things, and haven't had time to take any photos for a while. I actually still need to process photos I took of my cousin's wedding the first weekend in May! This is another close up of my quilt that my mother made. The little pink flowers fabric was fabric that my mother made herself a set of babydoll pajamas when she was a teenager. And the green and white was fabric that was used to make my mother and her sister a skirt set back in the day. My entire quilt is full of family memories like that - my uncle's sun suit, Easter dresses from my mother and her sister, etc. The ebook quilt anthology will have a kind of memoir I wrote about the family stories behind the quilt. I'll post the link when it comes out if anyone is interested.
