I will try to make this the last of my quilt shots I put in the dailies - I know you all must be getting tired of them! I have been busy job hunting and other things, and haven't had time to take any photos for a while. I actually still need to process photos I took of my cousin's wedding the first weekend in May!

This is another close up of my quilt that my mother made. The little pink flowers fabric was fabric that my mother made herself a set of babydoll pajamas when she was a teenager. And the green and white was fabric that was used to make my mother and her sister a skirt set back in the day. My entire quilt is full of family memories like that - my uncle's sun suit, Easter dresses from my mother and her sister, etc. The ebook quilt anthology will have a kind of memoir I wrote about the family stories behind the quilt. I'll post the link when it comes out if anyone is interested.

Backing & Edging

This is a shot of the edging and backing from my treasured childhood quilt made by my mother. As I am now 49 and the quilt was made when I was almost 2, it has some age on it. The fabrics used on the quilt had mostly already seen one life. This edging and backing was made from animal feed sacks (my grandparents were farmers). I hope this image is used in the upcoming ebook quilt anthology that I am participating in.

Quilt belongs to family of W. Gray McPherson, Snow Camp, NC

Today's image is in preparation for a quilt anthology soon to be released - I will give you details as I have them, but it will be sold in ebook format, and benefit the Twilight Wish Foundation. Some of my images and a piece I wrote will be in it.

This is another view of the quilt close up I posted a few weeks ago http://www.kdstewart.net/Whats-New/Images-from-2012-dailies/21342710_3FH6pv#!i=1883296449&k=xD2FL2X In this shot, you can see the age of the quilt (torn, discolored) and also see the date that was stitched into it when it was made. This quilt belongs to a friend's family and they kindly let me use it for the anthology.

I've been working on some quilt photos for an anthology project coordinated by one of my writer friends. It's to be an ebook about August and then in print. This image is part of a quilt that a co-worker loaned me to photograph. She found it balled up under her husband's mother's sofa. It has a date of 1893 sewn into it and is in terrible shape but it has a lot of character.
