November 17, 2010 Umstead Park Another view of the boathouse at Wm. B. Umstead State Park last weekend. Thanks so much for all your comments on yesterday's maple! November 17, 2010 Red Tree 2 This is also from my walk last Saturday morning - it is a close up of one of the flaming red maples. I was playing with a wide angle lens. I sharpened the image quite a bit to play up the texture on the bark. However, while the green circle of sunlight refracted doesn't bother me much, the long swath of light to the right of it, going up the trunk of the tree really bugs the heck out of me.
