Thanks for all the comments! I really appreciate that. :)
This is one again, that I took at the NC Museum of Art over July 4th weekend. They have a great outdoor trail and sculpture area and I took this in a glade of trees that has a very cool pinhole camera hut - the entire hut forms a pinhole camera. Here's the link if you are interested: http://www.ncartmuseum.org/museum_park/visit_park/ The pinhole camera structure is called the Cloud Chamber.
At any rate, I really love this one. To me it looks like a mystical, magical forest creature watching the humans from under the cover of the trees - Pan.
After doing the usual stuff to the photo (crop, levels, etc.), I used CS5 (aargh, very difficult to learn for me)'s Topaz Adjust filter that I downloaded to CS5. I really like the fun stuff Topaz Adjust can do. So I applied one of the Topaz Adjust filters and then played with it some more to bring out more detail, raise the light a bit, etc.
I just submitted this to the betterphoto monthly contest this morning and bam! EDITOR'S PICK, betterphoto.com, July 2010. :)
