A Year in the Life - Dailies 2009-2010

Photo diary project in which I would ideally take one photo a day as a sort of 'image diary' of life. However, we all know that I'm not going to take a photo a day, although we can all die of shock if I do find the time to do that. I'd love to have stunning images all, but the main point is to document life through one photo per day.

I'm sick as a dog and busy as heck so one more from the portrait shoot.

And another favorite from last week's shoot! You'll probably be seeing these for a while. . .

Another one of my favorites from last week's shoot.

This is one shot I just love that I took during a session last Friday evening. The family was so much fun to work with and I got a lot of great shots of them, which I am still feverishly (and obsessively) working on. I just couldn't wait to share this!

As for the CS5 - I'm liking it! It is not as difficult to work the basics as I had feared and has much in common with Corel's PSP X2 that I am used to. I find that I am working on images in both programs, pulling what I am familiar with from PSP and then trying out new things in CS5. But I am surprised to find that it is as similar to PSP as it is in many ways.

Sorry to have been absent from commenting on your dailies for so long, but I am trying to finish this family's gallery - can't wait to share it with them!

It's Here!

And now let the experiments begin! I have never used photoshop before. I tried to once but I never could figure it out - didn't seem very user friendly and I gave up after several days. So I am both dreading and looking forward to installing CS5. I saw the youtube videos on the capabilities and thought I'd give photoshop another try.

As far as the pool comments - thank you very much everyone for your thoughtful comments and help! I am leaning toward entering the shot that is not as highly processed after reading your comments and thinking about it. Your comments really helped me to think about the images.

Or this one? Which do you prefer - yesterday's or today's?

I like the processing on yesterday's but it may be a bit overdone for some tastes. I also like the glow of the sun on this one, which is missing with yesterday's processing. Which do you prefer?

Yesterday's mystery shot was an extreme close up of my dog's 'toe pads' - one of the pad parts on the bottom of his feet!
