A Year in the Life - Dailies 2009-2010

Photo diary project in which I would ideally take one photo a day as a sort of 'image diary' of life. However, we all know that I'm not going to take a photo a day, although we can all die of shock if I do find the time to do that. I'd love to have stunning images all, but the main point is to document life through one photo per day.

Please also visit my art in photography zazzle store at http://www.zazzle.com/artinphotography?rf=238874973767831732 for tons of my unique photo products! Great gifts!

Toby 5 Modern Painting, Topaz Adjust filter

A fairly goofy shot of Toby, my friend's fabulous rat terrier. The shot SOOC was fairly unusable. He was sitting next to her on the sofa with a large sliding glass door behind him that let in a ton of light behind him and hid his face in shadow. So I kind of changed the background by playing with it (don't ask me how, used about 100 steps in playing with it), then pumped up the light, clarity and contrast on Toby, then ran it through Corel's Painter Photo Essentials at that point since it really seemed to cry out for a modern, edgy, slightly weird and goofy feel. Used the modern painting setting then went back in and used the soft clone brush to uncover eyes, nose, mouth, whiskers and some fur.

Thanks for all the comments over the last few days! So good to be back and I am loving seeing all your amazing shots.

Now off to try to set up my 2011 gallery. And thank you for your input on that. I think '2011' will do fine as a title. :)

Toby 3 5501

Thanks for the comments, everyone! I really enjoyed browsing all your photos I missed while away. Here is Toby again, my friend's dog. He is such a snuggly cuddler and calm for a rat terrier, I'm told. This wide-eyed shot of him cracked me up.

Seems it is time to decide how to approach the dailies for 2011. I'm thinking it is unrealistic of me to shoot for one a day. Weekly, events, or as-I-can would suit me better but not sure how to structure or label that. Or if I need to structure and label that . . . and if I need a catchy title for it or if just '2011' will suffice . . .

Toby 2 glamour 5476

Sorry I've been AWOL for over a month! Lots of chaos here at home I'm trying to deal with. This is a shot of a friend's lovely little rat terrier. He's such a sweetie!

Spilled

It is the day after Thanksgiving, so I am now officially allowed to post Christmas pictures! This is another one from my quickie shoot in my garage last week or so ago (hard to remember at this point).

Glad you liked the Red Tree shot yesterday! I'd be interested to know which one of the two Red Tree shots you like better. They are both on my dailies and in my Seasonal galleries if you care to look and let me know - much appreciated!

Happy Friday, everyone, and be careful if you go out into that Black Friday chaos out there.

Another (different) shot of the red maples from my walk in mid-November.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

UPDATE: EDITOR'S PICK, betterphoto.com, January 2011, Catch-All

Wow - thank you for all your comments on yesterday's shot! This is such a supportive group of people and I learn a lot not just from what you say, but from studying your images. So glad I am a part of this group.

I'm finally finished revamping my website! You can find my new Fast Fabulous Shopping gallery at http://www.kdstewart.net/Fast-Fabulous-Shopping

In the process of weeding out images from my site, reorganizing and trying to streamline it, I got reacquainted with my Metamorphosis gallery ( http://www.kdstewart.net/Art-Plus/Metamorphosis/7600788_UkN7Y#1101919296_q5CBG). I had forgotten how much fun it is just to PLAY with images! Just to play, experiment, be free, which is the joy of creating images like today's Autumn Corn Flower and the images in the Metamorphosis gallery. The beauty of this kind of play with images is that there are no mistakes! There is nothing you can do wrong.

So I had myself a little fun yesterday and this morning and played with one of my Indian corn and pumpkin shots and made Autumn Corn Flower. Fun stuff. :)

Swirls in a Glass

I shot this yesterday in my garage as a 'quickie' kind of thing, but I am pleased with the result! I know, it's too early for Christmas shots, but I've been working on revamping my site and I wanted some holiday shots in the new galleries.

I've been working on the site for hours this weekend, and while some things are working fine, others are ummm...... difficult. I renamed some of the galleries in my drop down menu and moved the galleries to make it more user/shopper friendly (hopefully). I also created a new gallery - Fast Fabulous Shopping, for streamlined shopping. Not all links are working perfectly at the moment, but hopefully by the end of the day...

Autumn Pond

Just another quick snap in the neighborhood from last weekend. The trees are still bright now, but some are starting to lose leaves.
