Birdhouse Gourds

Wow - thanks so much for all your comments and congrats on my Red, White and Blue cupcakes! You guys are the best. :)

Today's image is one from my NCCAT (NC Center for Advancement of Teaching http://www.nccat.org) trip several years ago. Again, this is a shot that has been sitting in my archives for years, waiting to be processed, so I'm very glad that it is out today, even though it is not exactly a super image! At our NCCAT seminar, we were given 35 mm cameras to shoot with for part of the time, and this is from that series.

Taken in/near Cullowhee, NC, these are birdhouse gourds hanging on poles as birdhouses (to attract purple martins that eat insects), but look closely at one of the gourds on the left . . . could be a 'stick'y situation for the birds!
