La La La Lemon revisited

Skinnymini ecourse (see www.kimklassencafe.com) in Photoshop and layers homework for Day 4. This took a lot out of me! So not used to layers. This one had 6 layers in the end. Background, then screen blending mode, then a paint layer using a sponge brush to fill in areas of too much light from orig image and used the pin light blending mode on that, then a solid color adjustment layer that I used a yellow from the lemon to deepen/brighten, then a text layer that I used warp text to match the curve of the lemon and soft light (not sure I like that blending mode for the text though), then an adjustment curves layer to whiten the white and bump it up a little.

Whew! What a work out!

Bliss...

This is a shot of Samson from January 2009. I worked with it today because today is the first day of class in an ecourse I am taking on working with Photoshop. It's a 'do it at your own pace' course that lasts 2 weeks and was (tah dah!) FREE!!! It's Kim Klassen Cafe if you want to check it out http://www.kimklassencafe.com/

I was stuck in not being able to figure out layers (I know, DUH, right?) and I'm hoping this will get me going . I know not being able to manipulate layers has cut short a lot of potential creative things I could do, so I'm looking forward to learning. For this shot (my first homework), I created a layer and added the text. Very basic stuff, I know, but bear with me!

Enjoy the snow!

Just One Ear

Yep. All that fur is from trimming just one ear.

New Year's Day Bean Soup

First shot of the new year! Ham and bean soup - yum! It's dreary, gray and a little chilly here (but not too bad - low 50s maybe). Relaxing and recharging...

Happy 2011 to all.
